Incorporated during the recession of the late 1970s, Pen Gulf’s humble beginnings can be traced back to the simple philosophy of the company’s founder, Dan J. Cox, who simply said “Pen Gulf will always do what others won’t, safer, more efficient, and at a more competitive price.”

During the 1980’s, Pen Gulf established itself as a premier industrial coatings and insulation contractor servicing both new construction and facility maintenance throughout the Southeastern United States. After Mr. Cox’s passing in 1995, the leadership of Pen Gulf was assumed by his wife, Nancy Cox, and Pen Gulf added additional services to our clients. These services included lead and asbestos abatement, civil and mechanical services, scaffolding, and general labor assistance. In 2011, Nancy Cox retired, and Christopher Cox assumed the role of President.

For over 40 years, Pen Gulf has remained a family business committed to supplying superior industrial services for facility maintenance and new construction.
